so as a form of artist license have her in he EOTW  wardrobe  and let her hair down as a sentoff to  evil of the daleks.

otherwise else if any here is interested in such a project ,  id say let it happen.

well I final managed  merge the head  to the body   and  clear the non deformer history.

I also created  seperate  partition sets one  for the head  and the other for the body.

anyway the head still  has the original uvs , and for the body I just used automatic mapping.

the body texture   ( for for the hands legs and feet)   a single color texture   sampled from  the head texture

that came with the mesh

anyways  I post some updates soon

Cool. I think you might have some trouble with the shirt texture. It might be easier if you use some more 'cloth' looking material then add the fuzz as a noise map.

Keep your updates coming boy!

Cheers,
A

been doing some test renders with nvidia gelato  , which the pro version now  free,  it's a  renderman like renderer though it uses the python based pyg format  instead of rib  and gsl in place  of sl.

Aaron you should  check it out as i'ts awsome for rendering hair.

oh I went on youtube   yesterday and I watched some clips of the enlightment SE  you worked on

the cg looks kind of like the style  from dune miniseries  the scifi channel did  in 2000.

anyway now that  Im able to render hair curves  I'll post some renders in the morning.

Hi James,

The model is starting to look good, I can't wait to see how the full render will look -- If you are looking for a background for your character, check out the piece I'm working on for this missing episode  --

 completed rig ready for animation

though the hair seems give somewhat long rendertimes.  and geting  the hair shaded quite right is somewhat of a problem.

so might try rendering the hair in aqsis  , and victoria with the internal renderer.

well I ended up switching back to maya 8.5 had  autodesk transfer my license.

I also purchased prman academic from journey-ed back in october  though only recently had my license transfered
to a my new quad core machine.   as for now   here's two new renders of my victoria rig  which used mentalray for maya.
though I did not use sss instead I used stallbergs old sss fake shader which I got  off creativecrash.
the rig is rigged in advanced skelton with which proved with to be a success with some tweaking and autoweighing with pmheatweight frontend to pinnochio rigging library.

and ways heres some pics

cheers
