I've been working on Modeling William Hartnell. I'm not That experienced with Modeler, but used ZBrush to sculpt his head, then borrowed a basic clothed body from poser, The tuxedo if I recall, I then imported that into Zbrush for alterations, back into Modeler for further alterations and re-texturing and finally Rigging. What a headache Rigging is! I still haven't quite got the rig right yet but I will keep working.

This quick render I added some of Billy's Daleks that I converted for use in my Power project. I then photoshopped some post fx to give it that old tube look of the 60's.

Hope you like it.

Jon.

Very nice. Feels very real and solid, the likeness isn't perfect, but the cloth looks fantastic. Love the filters over top!

Thanks, yes I'm working on another Head. Its strange, because When I model it in ZBrush and check it in Modeler it looks quite good, but then once in Layout the head can look completetly different again. maybe its to do with the camera settings distortion etc. Anyway, i'm starting head two, to see how this goes.

Yes, you have to be very careful with z-brush, there are some VERY weird perspective things going on there. I kept modelling Troughton that looked just like him, then I would bring it into maya, and then would look nothing like him.

I have to say, I really like what you have done here, for me it is working even without a perfect licence. Although I am not sure if that's just because it's a full length shot.

Keep us posted!

Thanks. will keep updating. Glad I'm not the only one who has found this perspective problem with ZBrush to Lightwave.

I believe Wayne on here (noggity) is probably the person who knows the most about the issues surrounding it. The best thing is probably to keep exporting and checking the model in piece of kit with a slightly more reliable port.

Its a problem caused by zbrush not being a true 3d app so the camera settings are quite badly off for a  35 mm shot.  You can change the persepctive distortion to try and approximate it...but thats one reason I switched to Mudbox...  the cameras are true 3d and identical.

Here is the next stage of my Hartnell project. He has a new head with a bit more detail.

Brilliant work Jon, this along with your Davros figure, are outstanding, I wish I had the talent to do half as good.

Cheers

Here is a quick video for fun. I've got to spend a lot of time creating some expressions for his facial character in the days and weeks to come.

Hi Jon,

That is a great video -- I can't wait to see what you do next with your character --
